Like a finger, Sugarloaf Mountain points to the heavens as white buildings crowd the seaside; it’s as if a child spilt LEGOs on a green carpet. Further inland, the immovable Christ the Redeemer never ceases to bless the city, his perpendicular pose topping off Corcovado Mountain. He looks downward as a sea of tourists and adventurous Brazilians climb and climb. They never stay long but always return to Rio de Janeiro inspired.
